The moorhens on the pond have hatched their second brood and the moorhen teenagers are getting more adventurous and have ventured onto the pond in the yard where the water levels are better than the farm pond.
Unfortunately we have a a few local cats who enjoy preying on the wildlife so, the low water levels make the chicks and older birds easy prey for the cats.
