We had a call 2 days ago from Ruth Leslie, who has the Arford Kerry Herd in Achilitbuie in Ross-shire, to say that the livestock haulier could move Odessa and her calf yesterday. After a few phone calls, we managed to arrange for a neighbour to go up to Carlisle to pick them up from the haulier and bring them back down here. They arrived at 5am this morning after a journey of 15 hours.
They are resting in the corner of the field at the moment, but I shall have to bother them soon so that I can milk Odessa out. She's a good milker and her calf isn't taking all her milk yet.
